What does a funeral celebrant actually do?
A funeral celebrant helps you create and conduct a personal funeral ceremony that reflects the person who has died. I listen to your stories, help write the ceremony and eulogy and guide you through the funeral itself.
Will you help us write the eulogy?
Absolutely. I can help you shape your memories and stories into a meaningful eulogy.
Of course, if you’d prefer to write it yourself, I’m very happy to support you to do that.
What if there are things about their life
we don't want included?
Not everything about someone’s life needs to be included in their funeral. We can focus on the stories, memories that you feel comfortable sharing.
What if someone in the family doesn't
want to speak?
How do you make a funeral personal?
What if we don't want a traditional funeral?
That's absolutely fine. Not everyone feels comfortable speaking at a funeral and there are many other ways to be involved. I can share their stories and words for them, so no one feels pressured to speak.
What if there are difficult or complicated
parts of someone's life?
Not every part of a person’s life needs to be included in their funeral. We can talk honestly about what feels appropriate and decide together what should be shared and what is best left private.
What if we become too emotional to deliver
a reading or eulogy?
What if we don't know how to begin?
That's completely understandable. If you become too emotional to continue, I can step in at any stage if necessary.
What if we don't have many photos or
memories to share?
What is included in your fee?
That's okay. We don't need lots of photos or memories to create a meaningful funeral. Sometimes less is more.
That's okay. You don't need to have all the answers when you first contact me. I'll guide you through the process, one step at a time.
My fee includes the preparation and delivery of your funeral ceremony, including travel. Please contact me for a personalised quote, as the fee can vary depending on a number of factors.
Can you work with our funeral director?
Absolutely. I regularly work alongside funeral directors and will liaise with them to help ensure everything runs smoothly
What happens if you are unavailable
on the day?
I do everything I can to be available for your funeral. In the unlikely event that I am unable to attend, I have trusted celebrant colleagues I can call on to step in and ensure your ceremony goes ahead as planned.
By listening to the stories, memories and little details that made someone who they were. We can then weave those into the ceremony through words, music, rituals and personal touches that feel meaningful to you and your family.
