Calling all aspiring funeral celebrants!

Are you interested in getting into funerals? Or would you like to be prepared should the day come when you are asked to do your first funeral?

 

The thought of doing your first funeral is very daunting and being asked to do a funeral for the first time is not the moment to start scrambling around on google or chat GPT.


As funeral celebrants, formal training may not be a requirement, but that doesn't mean it's unnecessary.

Being a funeral celebrant is a deeply important role.

Investing in ourselves as professional celebrants is crucial for providing the best service to those we support during their most challenging times

 I am passionate about sharing what I have learned over the last 10 years in the funeral industry, and to share the skills necessary to be the best funeral celebrant you can be for your families.


This workshop is designed for celebrants with little to no prior funeral experience who are looking to enter the funeral industry or wish to avoid feeling overwhelmed at the thought of doing a funeral for the first time. .

 It has been created to give you the confidence to believe you can do a great job.

 

Workshop topics include:

 

-       Understanding the role of a celebrant

-       Types of funeral ceremonies

-       Building trust and rapport with families

-       Tips for gathering information and how to ask the right questions during the meeting

-       Techniques for writing heartfelt ceremonies

-       Managing the timeline and flow of the ceremony.

-       Incorporating personal stories, music and readings

-       Strategies for maintaining composure and professionalism with grace and empathy

-       Techniques for effective public speaking.

-       Importance of working collaboratively with other funeral service providers

-       Managing your own emotions and preventing burnout.

-       Avoid spending hours on google

 

We will also be joined by the wonderful photographer,  Tamara Little who will be available to take headshots in a chapel environment. 

Join me in this workshop to support your learning, growth, and ongoing development as a funeral celebrant to gain the skills to create meaningful ways to honour a life.

 Class size is strictly limited to maintain an intimate learning environment.

I recently helped to celebrate the life of a wonderful man who died on his birthday, which as you can imagine is a very rare phenomenon. 
According to Judaism, it is considered very special as it  indicates you have completed your earthly mission.  #
