Alternatives to "Let me know what I can do to help"

When someone is experiencing grief, we often say “let me know if there is anything I can do” but the reality is that someone grieving doesn’t have the capacity to say what they need.

Instead, you can OFFER to do some things that may make their lives easier at this time.

Let them know you are going to the supermarket, ask them what they need to picked up.

Drop off a meal

Pick up the kids from school

Ask if there is anything they would like you to take care of.

Offer to take kids for the afternoon

Walk the dog

Organise a meal roster

Let them know that you are here for them.
